Orissa Government to appoint 24,000 new Shikaha Sahayaks by March-end. It was announced by School and Mass Education Minister, Pratap Jena.

He said it has been decided to engage 24,000 new Shikaha Sahayaks by the end of March. The district collectors have been directed to start the process by making advertisements by January 24 for their respective districts, indicating the requirement of the category of teachers.

He said the engagement orders are to be issued to the selected candidates through the process of counselling in the Nijukti Mela in the respective districts by March 22 positively. A special cell headed by the Odisha Primary Education Programme Authority (OPEPA) deputy director has been opened for monitoring the entire process of engagements in a transparent manner, Jena said.

An estimated 25,493 posts of teachers are vacant. During this phase, 24,000 posts, including 10,534 trained science graduates, 2,499 trained arts graduates, 5,513 +2 CT Science and 5,454 +2 CT Arts posts will be filled up.
